The Clarke family has been involved in the martial arts and Tang Soo Do since 1988, and are ranked as black belts and
certified members of the US Korean Martial Arts Federation. Grand Master J.R. West, President of the USKMAF, in a letter of
recommendation, acknowledges the Clarke's as instructors dedicated to the martial arts and to their students. As instructors
they have trained students as young as five, and as old as seventy-five. The Clarke's provide a warm and caring
family atmosphere that is modern in its approach to training, but traditional in their presentation of the art form.
The Clarke family began their training in Tang Soo Do under Master Paul Mimidis in Lancaster Pennsylvania before moving
to Sugar Hill Georgia in 1995. Master Mimidis trained under Master John Barry Beam and the legendary Jae Chul Shin for over
25 years. Grandmaster Shin was a student of Hwang Kee, the founder of Moo Duk Kwan Tang Soo Do. Grandmaster Shin also helped
train the famous American martial artist, Chuck Norris in Korea in the early 1960's
As members of the USKMAF
the Clarke family currently receives advanced training from a number of talented instructors. On a local level, training takes
place with Master Charles Richards of Moja Kwan Tang Soo Do in Canton Georgia. Master Richards is a 5th Dan Master of the
USKMAF.
On a national level, the Clarke's trains with 8th Dan Grandmaster J.R. West President of the USKMAF
at his twice yearly seminars at Federation Headquarters in Jackson Mississippi. Master Dennis Mc Henry, ranking Tang Soo Do
practitioner and 6th Dan in the USKMAF, also provides advanced Tang Soo Do training at these same seminars.
